Over the last years bpost transformed into an international and dynamic company with a strong performance track record. bpost became a leading operator in the postal and parcel sector with a recognized expertise and knowledge. For the future, bpost aims at remaining an innovative and efficient operator in Belgium with a last mile adapted to the changing needs of the Belgian society, an exceptional customer reach and a sustainable delivery of the Universal Service Obligation. We also want to become a leader in e-commerce logistics in the Benelux, using our meaningful presence in the EU and US to offer an access for Belgian companies and consumers to EU, US and transatlantic e-commerce logistics solutions. In order to realize this ambition we defined a focused strategy which remains unchanged.
The acceleration of the mail volume decline, the increase in parcel volumes and the e-commerce logistics value creation are among others important challenges requiring modifications to our organization and Group Executive Committee. The company will be organized around three business units:
Mail & Retail
The business unit Mail & Retail will be in charge of the commercial and operational activities related to mail and retail, incl. banking & financial in Belgium. Kurt Pierloot will head this newly created business unit and will remain member of the Group Executive Committee.
Parcels & Logistics Europe & Asia
The business unit Parcels & Logistics Europe & Asia will be in charge of the commercial and operational activities related to parcels and logistics in Europe and Asia. Luc Cloet, currently heading this entity, will become a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Parcels & Logistics North America
The business unit Parcels & Logistics North America will be in charge of the commercial and operational activities in North America. Radial and Landmark Global entities in North America are part of this entity. Pierre Winand, currently heading this entity, will become a member of the Group Executive Committee.
Luc CLoet, 59 year old, started his career at Unilever Belgium in 1981, and then held various executive positions in the Unilever Rotterdam Head Office and Belgian Ice cream & Frozen Foods company. He joined bpost in September 2000 first as Managing Director Parcels & Express, and became end 2015 responsible for the business development activities of the business unit bpack. Luc graduated as Master in Applied Economics from the Antwerp University.

Pierre graduated as Master in Applied Economics from HEC in Liège.
Marc Huybrechts, currently member of the Group Executive Committee in charge of Mail Retail Solutions, will leave the company and Philippe Dubois, also currently member of the Group Executive Committee in charge of Mail Services Operations, will report to Kurt Pierloot. The other responsibilities within the Group Executive Committee remain unchanged.
Koen Van Gerven, CEO of bpost: "I'm convinced these organizational changes will better position our company to implement successfully our strategy. It will help us to accelerate our transformation into an international and dynamic group with headquarter in Belgium. I'm very happy to welcome Luc and Pierre into the Group Executive Committee of bpost. They bring with them outstanding leadership and expertise at top level in the field of Parcel & Logistics. I would also like to deeply thank Marc Huybrechts and Philippe Dubois for their contribution to bpost results over the last years. Under the leadership of Marc we delivered again a positive volume trend in advertising mail, acquired Ubiway and developed the credit and digital activities of bpost bank. Philippe implemented successfully our Vision 2020 program and launched the new sorting center in Brussels last year. Together with the other members of the Group Executive Committee I'm convinced we have a very strong and experienced management team to accelerate the transformation journey of this company. "
