bpost and Pink Ribbon unite in the fight against breast cancer
October is observed globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, the campaign in Belgium takes on a new dimension, with bpost launching a special postage stamp in collaboration with Pink Ribbon to raise breast cancer awareness. bpost will also support the organisation by raising funds at all its post office branches.
Tuesday 23 September 2025During Pink October, Pink Ribbon seeks every opportunity to raise awareness, encourage conversation, and keep breast cancer in the spotlight. On 20 October, bpost will launch a special Pink Ribbon postage stamp, available for sale through its e-Shop. Alongside the iconic pink ribbon, the sheet highlights a crucial message: the nine warning signs to look out for and when to seek medical advice. The well-known ‘lump in the breast’ is only one of many potential warning signs. Other signs of breast cancer are still far too often overlooked.
“This postage stamp issue represents a powerful acknowledgement of the daily struggle against breast cancer,” says Bettina Geysen, Director of Pink Ribbon. "Our partnership with bpost allows us to extend our reach significantly. Right from the very first conversation, we agreed that the pink ribbon should form the central image".
With support also offered via post offices
But it doesn’t stop at the postage stamp. In an increasingly digital society, the post office remains one of the last places where citizens and services meet in person. The Belgian organisation Pink Ribbon, with its unwavering focus on prevention, detection and care in the fight against breast cancer, perfectly reflects the social mission bpost intends to pursue in its post office branches.
Pink Ribbon can be actively supported from 20 to 31 October at post office branches through:
- Financial contribution: Customers can support Pink Ribbon by making a donation at the counter in any post office branch across the country.
- Purchasing a ribbon or bracelet: Pink Ribbon items will be on display and available for purchase in 100 post office branches. Proceeds go to the organisation.
- Awareness: A campaign on digital screens is running in 459 post office branches to further strengthen visibility in the fight against breast cancer.
"Our network of 656 post office branches nationwide is perfectly suited for these important initiatives," says Tina Hernalsteen, Retail Director at bpost. "Our goal is to turn the post office into a multi-service location that provides public, commercial and social services. Co-supporting socially relevant themes is essential. After all, each of us knows someone affected by breast cancer. This concerns us all."
