bpost’s Management Committee welcomes Henri de Romrée, Nico Cools and Dirk Tirez

In order to prepare the company for the future, the Board of Directors decided to reinforce the Management committee of bpost as of January 15th. Henri de Romrée will succeed Koen Beeckmans as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Committee. Nico Cools, currently heading the ICT division, will become CIO and member of the Management Committee. Dirk Tirez, currently Chief Legal&Regulatory Officer and Company Secretary, will also become member of the Management Committee.

Following the departure of Koen Beeckmans, the Board of Directors has decided to appoint Henri de Romrée as Chief Financial Officer and member of the Management Committee as from 15 January 2018.  Henri de Romrée, 42 year old, is currently Partner with McKinsey & Company, based in Brussels, and a core member of its Global Post, Parcels and Logistics practice.  Henri started his career at A.T. Kearney, and then moved to Euroclear focusing on Group Performance. In 2006, he joined McKinsey where he served several public and private institutions to operate their transformation with a strong focus on performance management. He was elected Partner in 2012.  Henri holds a Master's degree from Solvay Business School.

In addition, other changes within bpost's Management Committee have been decided upon as from 15 January 2018.

Nico Cools, currently heading the ICT division of bpost since 2015, will become CIO & Chief Digital Officer and member of the Management Committee.  Nico Cools, 62 year old, started his career at Upjohn (later called Pfizer),  a pharmaceutical company and then held various executive Information Systems positions in the following companies Texaco, a petroleum company, Compu-Mark, a trademark searching and watching company, Anhyp, later called AXA Bank, a financial banking company and Telenet, a telecom company.  He joined bpost in 2003 first as Director of the Financial Post, and became in 2007 responsible for the business unit Business Customers and Solutions focusing on business development and innovation.  Nico graduated as business engineer in quantitative applied economics and informatics from KU Leuven.

Dirk Tirez, currently Chief LegaL & Regulatory Officer and Company Secretary, will become member of the Management Committee.  Dirk will, on top of his current responsibilities, also be responsible for the coordination of the Strategy and the M&A.  Dirk Tirez, 53 year old, started his career at the law firm Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton in New York as a member of the New York State Bar and held various positions in private law practice, public service and was before joining bpost, European general counsel and company secretary of NASDAQ Europe, a subsidiary of The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc.  He joined bpost in 2003 as general counsel (to become later also the company secretary).  Dirk graduated from the Law School at the KU Leuven, the College of Europe in Bruges and obtained, as BAEF-fellow, an LL.M. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  He participated in several executive education programs at the London Business School, INSEAD and the Harvard Business School. 

The other responsibilities within the Management Committee remain unchanged.
