Marc Huybrechts joins bpost’s Management Committee

Following the appointment of Koen Van Gerven as CEO of bpost, a candidate search and selection process was initiated to fill the position of Mail and Retail Solutions Director. The Company was assisted in this process by an external executive search firm.

Upon unanimous recommendation of the Remuneration and Nomination Committee, the Board of Directors has decided to appoint Marc Huybrechts as Mail and Retail Solutions Director and member of bpost's Management Committee.

Mail and Retail Solutions (MRS) manages all commercial relations regarding mail products within Belgium, both for the business market and the non-commercial market as well as for residential customers. It also manages the network of service points, which includes post offices, PostPoints, eShop, Contact Center, philately shops, etc. Banking and insurance solutions, offered on behalf of bpost bank, as well as partner products, complement the postal offering through these channels.

Marc Huybrechts, 51, filled various positions at McKinsey & Company and Fortis Bank (formerly Generale Bank/Générale de Banque) before joining Dexia Group in 2003. In 2009 he joined Distriplus (Belgian distribution group that includes retail brands Planet Parfum, Di and Club) as Chief Operating Officer, where he was subsequently appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Marc Huybrechts holds a Master of Laws (UCL, Louvain), a Master of Economics (UCL, Louvain) and an MBA from the University of Chicago (USA).
