bpost increases commitment to digital inclusion by donating more than 11,600 pieces of equipment to Digital for Youth in 2024

bpost reaffirmed its social engagement in 2024 by donating more than 11,600 pieces of equipment to Digital for Youth, an organization whose sole mission is to bridge the digital divide among young people aged 6 to 25. This record donation, which includes more than 3,000 computers and 2,700 smartphones, will equip schools and organizations that help thousands of young Belgians. A positive campaign that harnesses the potential of digital inclusion to drive equal opportunities.

Equipment for the future

As part of its sustainability and social responsibility programme, bpost has donated a total of more than 11,600 pieces of equipment this year:

  • 3,094 computers, including 1,353 laptops
  • 50 tablets
  • 2,711 smartphones
  • 821 screens
  • 635 printers
  • 421 scanners
  • 3,924 other pieces of equipment (including USB adapters, chargers and card readers)

The donation, composed exclusively of equipment in full working order, gives young Belgians the tools they need to take part in the digital world, which immediately impacts their participation in education and the job market in a tangible way.

The initiative fulfils two goals for bpost: bridging the digital divide and lowering the environmental footprint of electronic equipment.

Nathalie Deck, Manager Business Development Public & Private Sectors: “At bpost we believe digital inclusion is a prerequisite for a prosperous and equitable future. By working shoulder to shoulder with Digital for Youth, recognized and supported by the King Baudouin Foundation, we play an active role in creating opportunities for young generations while contributing to the circular economy."

Continued partnership in 2025

After this notable achievement, bpost intends to continue its efforts in 2025, with further donations already planned to support even more young people to access the digital world and make the most of the opportunities it offers.

Hans de Backer, General Manager Digital for Youth: “Thanks to this partnership with bpost, Digital for Youth will give thousands of young Belgians access to a computer and digital skills.  This donation from bpost makes a real difference.”
